18o Degree South Premiere + George Takei Petition

Last night my friends (pictured here) invited me to the Eli Broad Theater in Santa Monica for the premiere of 180 South, a documentary about recreating the adventures of Yvon Chouinard (Owner of outdoor gear and clothing company, Patagonia) and Doug Tompkins (Environmentalist) voyage to Patagonia in South America. The premiere opened with a beautiful performance by Makohe. Afer this inspiring film ended we were treated to an art show featuring photography shot during the filming of the documentary. Lucky attendees also had a chance to pick up limited edition prints by Sheperd Fairey. Unfortunately, this is the only screening in Los Angeles. Next screening will be in San Francisco at The Victoria Theater. Visit Woodshed Films
for more information. Documentaries like this one make me feel we can change the world if we decide to.
On other news, there is a petition for George Takei (Actor, Star Trek) to host Saturday Night Live. Please support him here.

Awesome post! I heard about these from a few of my friends in the outdoor gear and clothing industry. They flew to Santa Monica to see it and said it was really cool.
