Here is something interesting. A hot train meal without the use of microwaves. Step one: Pull string. Wait for 10 min. Step two: Dig in. I'm not quite sure what the contents are in the last pic, but it's the source of the heat. Any idea what is in this thing?

i remember when i was in japan they had these hello kitty packets thing that gets really warm when you rub your hands against it for the winter. maybe same stuff. (not answering your question but meh)

i think it's a flameless ration heater similar to what is found in the Meals Ready to Eat(MRE)used by our beloved military.
