Culver City never ceases to amaze me. Early yesterday morning I attempted to check out what I thought was a mirage. But this was no mirage. I had discovered a 200 plus step climb at 511 ft. I ran up this hill. Huffing and puffing all the way up until I almost passed out at the top. It would have been wise to bring water with me. Maybe next time. The reward for your climb is this amazing panoramic view of Los Angeles to Santa Monica. I took a moment to take it all in. With little energy, I selected a trail which led me to a structure virtually hidden from the street below. The Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. Built about 1 year ago. Who knew this place existed? I went online today and realized many did.
Met up with friends this past Saturday to see the Culver City Car Show. The show spilled out covering more space than previous years. My all-time favorite is the Back to the Future DeLorean. 
My friend Jimmy has a college buddy that wrestles and I have never been to a lucha libre match so we went to check it out. I used to watch the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) as a kid, and this was more entertaining since it was in person. The characters had some interesting quirks. One masked man jumped onto the stage playing a trumpet while another did a Karate Kid crane pose. It surely satisfied my childhood wish to attend a live match. I would definitely attend another event. If you find one of these shows around your town, take a chance and try them out. You might find it more entertaining than watching television.
While the art world buzzes about Art Basel happenings in Miami this week, we are back in these great seats at the Staples Center. The Clippers battled against the Rockets last night to a 102-85 Clippers loss. There were a few sparks, some bad plays and just awful errors that killed us. I was however impressed that we kept up with Houston's pace. It was also nice but bittersweet to see Trevor Ariza back in LA. Thanks again Laraine!
I love basketball! Maybe it's the speed of the game or the way players seem to fly for just a moment. Well, yesterday I got these amazing seats courtesy of Laraine who hooked it up. She is a season ticket holder and has seen and met some amazing basketball superstars. Last night we were supposed to meet Marcus Camby, but that fell through. Most importantly, we won against the T-wolves in a 91-87 victory. Let's hope that Eric Gordon can play soon.
Today's weather in Culver City is perfect. Even the free ice cream truck dropped by Sony. Sorry no pictures of that. But check out the blue sky. Strange to think tomorrow will be all stormy. SoCal, you never cease to surprise me.
Tried to visit Giant Robot's website this morning and got this. Has anyone seen the same? It says that Giantrobot.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on my security preferences. What does this mean? Co-Founder of Giant Robot, Mr. Eric Nakamura explains it all here.
