A Little Package from Italy

I don't really get allot of cool stuff in the mail. So this one really sticks out. Stirato is a poster style magazine from Rome, Italy. This particular issue features Xiaoqing Ding, Diego Gravinese, Anthony Lister and myself. The pick above is my contribution. Stirato's distribution is mostly concentrated in Europe, but I think I have about 10 copies. So, if you want one just shoot me an email. Ciao bella!*all gone*

Mr. Ushiro interview in Honolulu Magazine
It's such an emotional feeling for me to be recognized in my own home state. About a month ago, the Executive Editor, Kathryn Wagner of Honolulu Magazine interviewed me for their Fall issue feature entitled, "Haunted Hawaii." Hearing ghost stories in Hawaii is a pretty normal thing. And for these residents this issue will unearth nothing new. But for the visitors of the islands, it will deliver a nice insight of things which go bump in the night within the 50TH state. You may pick up the latest issue of Honolulu Magazine at your newstand today or read it here.

Hunt and Gather interview with Tina Ziegler
Just in time for aloha friday is this brand-spanking new interview with Atticus Gallery Curator, Tina Ziegler. Atticus Gallery is a contemporary gallery in Barcelona, Spain. So before I sat down with Tina, I imagined that I would be speaking with a middle aged Spanish woman. Dam'n was I wrong. Tina is a cool, mellow, beautifully statuesque all American girl who calls Santa Barbara her home. She is one of the rare people that can actually understand my strange humor and I feel that it helped the interview flow smoother. Read this conversation here.

My First Printed Solo Exhibition Review
Not quite sure if anyone out there is familiar with Art Ltd. Magazine. I can find it at my local Barnes & Nobles. Well anyways, Anna Meliksetian kindly visited the gallery to look over my solo exhibition and wrote a review of the show. You can read her review here. With my personal art now within public arms length, it's really interesting to hear how people interpret my artwork. May I ask what did you get from it?

Receipt from San Diego Comic Con and a Gallery Prop
If anyone hit the streets of downtown San Diego last weekend, you know something was going on. From the Superman ordering espresso at Starbucks to an entire star fleet waiting to chow down on Thai food, the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) pulls out very interesting folks. I had an amazing time signing and sketching for the people that lined up for me and Yoskay Yamamoto at the Hi-Fructose booth. Domo-arigato for that! Leaving SDCC with positive vibes, I returned to my desk only to find that my solo show has been reviewed by Flavorpill. Thank you Jessica! Wow, what a weekend.
