2010 Solo Exhibition Reminiscing

It is kind of difficult to recap a memorable week in New York in just a few photographs but, here you are. First 3 are from my solo exhibition as I chat it up with the ladies and gents, my new sketchbook from NY, Kim and my folks at a jewish diner, Union Square Farmers Market, Lynne, Kim, Mom (Dad in the background), my friend Kate took me out to Newark for a dangerous but interesting evening, atop Harlem, atop the Rock, below Rockefeller Center, the best halal truck score was next to the Hilton in Manhattan (you could smell it a block away), Paparazzi and the Statue of Liberty, our last day in the city, and my Dad and I strolling through Times Square for our last night. Thank you to all the supporters, collectors and friends. You make it possible for me to do what I love for a living. If you are on the east coast and have not visited the show, you still have time. The show will be open until April 17.

"Chasing The Last Glympse Of Light" by Scott Belcastro

Did you see this show? It's by my friend Scott Belcastro who has just presented new paintings for his solo exhibition at LeBasse Projects. His artwork evokes the whimsical moments he had shared with me during his youth on the east coast. In this particular series, he masterfully controls not only light, but the emotion and stillness of nature. The honest components in art that I admire. This is Scott.

Thank You!!!

Thank you!!! You are the reason for the smile on my face during the opening of my solo exhibition. Family, friends and fans came from near and far (Hawaii, San Francisco, England, San Diego, Riverside and Japan). It was pretty overwhelming to say the least. These are a few pictures from my Dad's point of view. Thanks Dad for remembering to bring a camera. If you have any photos please send them my way at ed@mrushiro.com. I'd love to see them. Also for those of you who are not in California, you may view the entire show online here.

Promotional Consideration Appreciated!

Seems like the news for my solo exhibition is spreading. Got mentioned by Hypebeast, SlamxHype, Arrested Motion, Daily Dujour, Hatena Atenna Japan, Hi-Fructose Magazine and Theme Magazine.
There are a number of you out there and I would like to thank you for your shout-outs. Every plug helps, so please spread the news and keep the echoing factor alive. I'll see you all in 3 days!

The end of my note is dedicated to Jeremy Asher Lynch, friend and Editor at Game Show Network who generously provided the video you see above. He is awesome. So thanks braddah! We can go surf now!!!
